Yosemite Rock Climbers!

Home > Scenic Wonders Blog > Yosemite Rock Climbers!
Friends I greet you from Yosemite, Of great interest right now are the two ROCK CLIMBERS on Yosemite's majestic EL CAPITAN. Having an hour earlier, just taken the photography walk offered by The Ansel Adams Gallery, I was still looking up at the light... and at the beautiful clouds. A great light from the sky suddenly shone on El Captain. Beauty everywhere. The splendor of Yosemite!! I snapped some pics of people looking up at the rock climbers. I also was fascinated by the rock climbers and their adventure. Climb El Capitan yourself in this interactive New York Times article: http://nyti.ms/1AH5QrJ unnamed But the CLOUDS were shouting out with JOY!!!  Looking up at the clouds, I took pictures of them...alongside El Capitan.  I remember from the Ansel Adams walk...2/3 of the photograph should be clouds. " The external events of majesty and beauty are very clear and direct, "Ansel wrote. I think that the climbers were appreciating the beauty of the moment as well.  The skies above the mountain were sparkling.  As I continued hiking up the climbers' trail to the base of El Cap, I remembered that a mountaineer is one...who seeks the freedom of the hills, as it is written in the book , "Mountaineering:  The Freedom of the Hills. "  "The book is the bible of climbing  lore," wrote Royal Robbins.

SUDDENLY I saw a streak of light on the granite wall of monolithic rock. The drama of Yosemite.

The sun illumined a most beautiful bow across El Cap's face. " I can see the many miracles of the day, " wrote Ansel.More pictures!!! while remembering that  Ansel wrote, "The creative structure of vision and mood..."
As Ansel wrote, "The snapshot represents something that each of us has seen-more as a human being than a photographer-and wants to keep as a memento, a special thing encountered.
They provide recollections of events, people, and places; they stir memories and create fantasies."
"....I am more than ever convinced that the only possible way to interpret the scenes hereabout is through an impressionistic vision.  ....I feel quite happy over this picture....,"wrote Ansel.
The rock climbers experience the exhilaration of each moment of the climb before them...each hand hold, the next belay, the next twist in the route
El Cap granite is wonderful for the rock climbers, but it is even worn down by sun and frost, water and wind.
Similarly, photographers experience the exhilaration of shooting the moment before them...capturing the moment.
"These beautiful days must enrich all my life. They do not exist as mere pictures...but they saturate themselves into every part of the body and live always."  John MuirFor your next family vacation, let Scenic Wonders help you to enjoy the joys of wilderness travel with their comfortable mountain lodgings suitable for the entire family.
