The Boulder and the Lupine
Dear Friends
I greet you from Yosemite

The boulder and the lupine were covered with fresh rain droplets. Early in the morning mist was surrounding El Capitan in beautiful Yosemite Valley.

Though the eye may not see clearly the simple beauty of the boulder and the lupine on a fine sunny day, on this day… they were glistening with beauty.

The earth was lush after the early morning rain; and the sky was overcast. Our hearts were uplifted by the fresh pine scent of the forest.

Treasures lined the sides of the trail. The many flowers which accompanied our steps along the path brought a smile to our faces.

The flowers were crying out with joy. The lupine were especially glad this day in the valley region of Yosemite National Park.

One would not be quick to stray from the path on this day even though hidden and secluded places also give witness to the beauty of this day. For it was simpler to enjoy the simplicity before me expressed in the simple arrangement of a boulder and some lupine.

Let our joy be in the beauty of the moment. We were thankful to spend this day in the spirit of joy.

The boulder and the lupine will help us to recall how we delighted in the beauty of this day!
