That I may love the things you love
Dear Friends
I greet you from Yosemite

That I may love the things you love, and do the things you do.

A father and his son were bouldering while enjoying some time at Glacier Point in beautiful Yosemite. Army Captain Dan, son of retired Yosemite Park Ranger Bob Bandy, who had raced on the Badger Pass Ski Team for 9 years, was sharing his love of Yosemite and rock climbing with his son Zane. The Divine Office for today provided the following words.

“Thereupon a host of clouds came up from behind the rock. You must hold fast to the Rock.

I muse on what your hand has wrought and to you I stretch out my hands. Make me know the way I should walk. Always you are there to help me.

Shout with joy to the Rock who saves us. He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the highest mountains as well. He covers the heavens with clouds. My Rock and my stronghold.

You must hold fast to the Rock. Help us to follow in your footsteps.

Let our sons then flourish like saplings grown tall and strong from their youth.

You, my child, are guided into the way of peace.

Blessed are those who love God; peace will be yours all the days of your life”, says the father.

“That I may love the things you love, and do the things you do,” replies the son.
