Relax on the porch and enjoy the sun's orange display as it sets in the West. Beautiful and scenic. Open the back door and breath in the fresh air from the forest out back. This home has an electric fire place, no mess! This home also offers a washer/dryer for longer stays. Due to this properties location nestled in the pines, there is no T.V. reception, but is equipped with a DVD player and movies. These tall Pines keep our guests cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There are 2 bedrooms, with a queen bed in each, and a bunk bed in the 3rd bedroom. There is 2 parking spots over summer months, 1 over winter months.
There are 89 steps to the front door of the house with private access to an old Native American Hiking trail behind the property. It was kind of warm upstairs even though we arrived late (9:30pm). Perhaps the upstairs windows could have been opened when someone went by to reprogram the door code?

This cabin is perched on the side of a hill up a large flight of steps - views are great from the front porch especially of the sunsets.
It is surrounded by trees and you can watch the lodgepole chipmunks scamper around once the sun warms up the woodpiles. Sadly we didnt see any bears but they have been seen from here.
The kitchen was well-equipped with a nice large table to sit around, the sitting area was comfortable and there are some games, cards and plenty of DVDs to watch. There is no internet connection, which can be frustrating but most enjoyable as you are totally disconnected from the world. Beds are comfortable with plenty of towels and blankets if needed.
We drove down to Yosemite valley each morning which takes about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic but we left early so managed to get a parking spot each day.
So if you dont mind climbing a few stairs and being disconnected from social media this is the place for you

We loved the location, 20 minutes to the Valley. The entrance has 82 steps up which didn’t bother us but it might be something to consider for older folks or people with disabilities. The cabin was cozy, we usually cook and prepare our meals for the day and it had all the essentials for it. The rooms were comfortable but it may need some drawers for the queen bed rooms. Having a laundry and drier is a plus when you have kids. We loved the laminated park info and trail maps.
Overall a great cabin for a family of 4 to 6.

Property was in great condition and great location. Temps were over 100 degrees which were very uncomfortable with no AC. Management office did promptly respond by bringing an additional fan when two fans at the house were not operational. Overall, we had a great experience and would stay again.

Weve stayed at about 3 other properties over the past 7 years. This was the first time staying at Hawks Nest. It was perfect for the two of us. Just the right size, homey, comfortable and clean. And very private, all the way up those 83 steps! And we really liked the DVD collection. Just need a better jigsaw puzzle than the one there!!

Hawks Nest was perfect four our family of six! It was extremely clean. The beds were all comfortable. All the appliances worked great, including the large capacity washer and dryer. We grilled out overnight with the propane grill. Close to the Valley and Glacier Point. It was very nice to come back and have your own place to relax, play cards and cook dinners. The two full baths were very clean.

The house was just as described, and we found it in sparkling clean condition. We appreciated the comfortable rooms and well-appointed bathrooms and kitchen. Some suggestions: The living/dining space had barely any lights, which made it hard to use those areas for reading or playing games. We also would have appreciated a coatrack (perhaps instead of the tree sculpture) to avoid piling our outdoor clothes on chairs and benches. Overall, we enjoyed our time in the house and were grateful for the proximity to the Valley and to Badger Pass.

We experienced all 4 seasons in this trip. The rain/snow storm on May 21st is a treat for our granddaughter who never feel and touch snow. She had fun making snow man with her dad.
Overall the property we stayed is awesome. The stairs are very challenging to climb but is all good gives us to work out before hiking the activities at the Yosemite Valley.
We will come back and for sure use one of scenic wonders property.

Neighbourhood is awesome! Quiet and place was clean. Would have preferred to have more trash bags available in the accommodation. Apart from that, all good. :)
