We had a wonderful stay. Everything was great and it snowed! We so enjoyed the snowy winter wonderland inside with the big picture windows. Our hikes were just magical with the snow on the Wawona Dome, on the granite boulders and in the forest. We will be back!

Very nice house within the park! Very clean and fresh! The only problem is the size of the shower...very small, even for a little woman like me!!

This rental property is excellent! It is extremely well-maintained and attractively decorated. I appreciated the use of photos and artifacts of Indigenous peoples for some of the artwork. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked with every tool you could want, and there were plenty of dishes and glasses. The home was spacious and very clean. The hot tub is an added bonus. The home is also within walking distance of a trail to a lesser-known waterfall. The price was reasonable for such a high-quality property. We were extremely pleased with our stay! I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen with higher quality pots and pans and non perishable items. Cabin was very comfortable and location near the trail heads and at the end of the housing was great. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi. The only thing we would improve is being able to check in earlier and check out a bit later (but especially a 3pm checkin would have been appreciated. Thanks!

The location is perfect! It allows for a fully immerse Yosemite experience without daily rides to and from the park. The cabin is beautiful, and the waterfall just minutes away will take your breath away!

We had a wonderful time! The house was clean and as described with many amenities and beautiful decor. We loved the location’s nearby trails. We walked, from the house, to the cascading Chilnualna waterfalls and the Swinging Bridge trail everyday. The hot tub was clean and hot. We loved the roaring cascading waterfall sounds from the hot tub and deck. The well outfitted kitchen and barbecue made us feel at home. We will be back!

We loved hearing the nearby waterfall and river from the hot tub after a full day of sightseeing and hiking in Yosemite Valley, the Mariposa Grove and Wawona. The water was so thunderous this spring as the water was near peak flow. The fully stocked kitchen and outdoor barbeque made eating in such a pleasure. The the dishes and cups are beautiful. Much of the dishware has Yosemite themes as does the art in the house. Some of the art seems like it is one of a kind. The downstairs and upstairs floor to ceiling large windows brought the outdoors in. Individual room air conditioning and heating was great to have. Being close to trails was a highlight for us. Just walking the streets in Wawona was enjoyable. In the summer, I know everyone enjoys all the swimming holes in Wawona. We hope to comeback in the summer. We went to the charming Wawona hotel to enjoy the grounds, victorian ambiance, historic dining room and top tier entertainment by Yosemite historian, Tom Bopp. We had so much fun at the hotel, we went two nights in a row! The house has one private bedroom and two semi private bedrooms. The light and bright loft was our favorite bedroom. It is stunning! The layout of the home provided a true group vacation experience of togetherness. We have longed for that experience. We absolutely loved it here.

It was great! That cabin was perfect for us. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and convenient for the amount of cooking we did. The hot tube was a nice addition and it was clean and new. The location was great. Checking in and out was really convenient. We were very happy there. I expect well be back.

We rented Bear Crossing mainly for the location and the hot tub. Neither disappointed. The hot tub was absolutely perfect after a long day hiking, hot, private, and convenient. The cabin was perfectly located inside the park, but still quiet and fairly remote. It was about a 45 minute drive to Yosemite village. It was also a 45 minute drive to the Sentinel Dome/Taft Point hikes. The cabin itself was very clean and well-stocked. Our only complaint was the shower -- it was sooo small. You can barely turn around without touching the sides. No big deal, we took faster showers this way. Overall, a fantastic place and trip.

Super stay at Bear Crossing. Great location and very well kitted out unit. We really appreciated the attention to detail of having all amenities (including great internet) for the modern traveler. Everything we could have wanted was there and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner every evening around the bbq on the back porch talking and listening to music. Truly a home away from home in the midst of spectacular Yosemite. We will return!

The Bear Crossing Property has been in our family for nearly 50 years. The current cabin was built in the early 90s. My children and I have decades of memories exploring trails and swimming holes along the South Fork of the Merced and Chilualna Creek. Wawona offers some of the hidden gems of Yosemite that most people dont ever get to see. If you chose to stay at Bear Crossing or anyplace in Wawona, the drive to the Valley is worth it, but save some time for the beauty of the South Fork. In the Spring of 21, we spent some time at Bear Crossing, both to enjoy it and to do maintenance. We hope youll enjoy the our home and some of the trails you can access without getting in your car. Springtime provides the roaring Chilnualna Creek, cascading waterfall sounds you can hear right from the hot tub on our deck. Of course there is the beauty of early spring flowers, but we feel that Bear Crossing is a very special place in any season. Daily short hikes (1/2 mi.) to those cascading waterfalls is our all time favorite activity. There is a notebook in the cabin with hiking and adventure suggestions, or you can just take the short walk out the door to the Chilnualna Falls trailhead sign to learn about hiking possibilities nearby. We replaced worn items, fixed this and that, updated wall and bed quilts along with Yosemite themed decor. We especially enjoy providing our guests a sense of Yosemites natural and human history through the many books and pieces of artwork throughout the house. All of our hard-work is for our family and yours to enjoy. Please let us know what you like and what improvements you would suggest. Much of what you see in our home is based on what guests have liked and recommended since we started sharing our home nearly 30 years ago.

The ease of checking in and out of the home was very important as well as the comfort of the home. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We usually stay in Yosemite West and this was the first time we stayed in Wawona. We loved the area, it felt like home. To have a fireplace that was easy to turn on and internet was a benefit to us also Thanks again for another great vacation

Loved the house, it is always the place we want to stay in. The new gas insert was a hit with everyone that stayed in the home. The only item of concern was the coffee pot brewed super slow at the time of our stay. we ended up just doing pour over coffee. We are already planning a trip back. Also if you are ever interested in updated professional interior photos let me know! I am a professional interior photographer. Looking forward to coming back, Thanks again

We loved staying at this house. It has everything one could possibly need. And, as previously stated in other reviews, the kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, utensils and cookware. The house was very clean, and the hot tub was just wonderful. We tend to be more simple in our decorating taste and did find the decorating with soooooo much bear themed things to be a bit over-the-top. There are some beautiful pieces of photography that were dwarfed by all the other bear-a-phenailia. We would happily recommend Scenic Wonders and Bear Crossing to others.

October 6, 2019
We had a very nice time and appreciated that the kitchen was well-equipped - esp the fancy microwave and toaster! We used some of the foil and parchment paper for cooking, and the assortment of spices was nice, even though we had brought some of our own. having some saran wrap and small plastic baggies would have been a plus for packing lunches, etc. Liked that the towels were large thick ones. We set the thermostat at 60 but the upstairs was quite warm so we simultaneously ran the dining room fan. It would be nice to have two large garbage cans in the kitchen/dining area to make it easier to separate recyclables from waste.

Great house, fully equipped, even with wi-fi which wasn’t included in the description. BBQ and hot tub much appreciated after a day in Yosemite park. Excellent stay even if we didn’t see any bears ????. Maybe just a thing to change: the photo and description of outside is slightly misleading as it really gives the impression the house is very isolated in the middle of the forest, which is not the case.

Our stay was fantastic! We loved the lights on outside the cabin, the hot tub heated, and the cabin warm as we arrived from skiing on our first day there. The cabin had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated. The big windows and seeing the stars and trees at night and in the morning was magnificent. Very beautiful, quiet, and peaceful location. Thank you for helping our family have such a special time in a very special place. We loved it!

We loved our time at Bear Crossing! Check in was so easy. The cabin was warm and welcoming when we arrived. It was a great location for a home base as we explored Yosemite. Best stocked kitchen I have ever experienced in a rental. Made it so easy to prepare meals. Beds were comfortable. Great to have a washer/dryer, too. Helped us to pack less as we traveled across the country from Florida. The view out of the windows has been marred a bit with all the trees that have been cut down (it was not how it looked in the pictures we had seen online). It was not the most scenic place to look out on. But that is not within the purview of Scenic Wonders, and was not a serious negative. And true to the description, we did watch deer grazing right outside the cabin. Really fun for my daughter to see. We loved the hiking trails that were accessible by foot from the cabin. One night we discovered the games and had a family game night with a fire. It was the perfect place for our family. We would highly recommend both Scenic Wonders and Bear Crossing. In fact, we already have!

July 9, 2018
Overall we had a great time. The house combined comfort with character and was well situated for both local trails and those further afield. The only downside was the temperature as it got hot during the day. We found a nearby swimming spot (swing bridge) but it was too late to take advantage of it. It would be a good idea to make guests aware of this in the house information pack.
