Description
A new handicap-friendly chalet inside the gates of Yosemite National Park was built in 2016! Enjoy mountain views, native flowering dogwoods, and amazing sunsets at this chalet just 20 minutes from Yosemite Valley. Every detail in this custom-built home blends the warmth of the craftsman style with the simplicity of modern design. Energy-efficient features and custom furniture sourced from locally salvaged wood make your stay a green choice, too. ONLY 1 CAR, which must be a 4WD/AWD with tire chains required for the driveway in Winter/Spring.
This chalet accommodates 2-6 guests with a master suite (king bed), a second bedroom (2 queen beds), 2 full baths, a well-equipped kitchen, a generous dining room table, and an outdoor deck with a gas BBQ. Efficient heating and air conditioning, customizable for each room, cozy gas fireplace, and heated bathroom tile floors provide comfort in any season. Satellite WIFI internet (not fast enough for streaming and video calling) and cable TV is available.
This chalet is one of three similar homes nestled on the mountainside overlooking the Merced River Canyon in Yosemite West. Each home provides secluded privacy, perfect for a family. Reserve all three for a larger reunion of friends and family. All Alpenglow Retreat Chalets book up quickly, and groups are encouraged to reserve well in advance. There are 2 parking spots during summer and 1 parking spot during fall, winter, and spring. 4WD/AWD with tire chains required for the driveway in Winter, Spring.

Everything was great! Minor thing but it could be nice to have a coffee table in the apartment next to the sofa, and some more basic cooking things like oil in the kitchen.

The house is excellent and had a luxurious feeling to it. Well equipped, clean and fresh.
An extra plus to the quick handling of, and rebooking of the stay, due to a snowstorm that closed the park on the originally planned dates.

Beautiful place and great location. We really enjoyed the place and our stay. Could use a light towards the parking side for those arriving after dark. Was hard to see where to park and get stuff for the vehicle to the house.

Wonderful property with a great location in the park. Only had one situation that came up and it was resolved very quickly. Propane tank for grill was almost empty...after one email someone showed up and switched the tank. Took all of 30 minutes and we had the grill going!

Stay experience was superb! Few things were missing such as Towel, extra paper towel, hand wash is all bathrooms etc were missing but overall very good experience. Loved the Sunset from the Patio!

Loved so many things about the stay! The location, design, space, all really great. Having a fully functional grill with enough gas was a big win. And, when we needed support with the door lock, the team was quick to answer the phone and get it fixed!
It would have helped during our planning to know what specific features were available prior to arrival: type of coffee machine, gas/charcoal grill, if cooking essentials were available (salt/pepper, oil, etc).
Overall I hope to come back and spend time at maybe another property too.

The cabin was BETTER than it looked in the photos ! Wonderful floor plan, excellent amenities. So close to Glacier Point and Yos Valley. All was excellent..... the radiant heated floor in the bathroom, the big tub, the big stove and fridge and countertops--- perfect for cooking a delicious meal and enjoying the ambiance.... nice TV for movies... great bbq, the beds were very comfy... great deck for breakfast.... and my girlfriend was very impressed ! As a wheelchair user I appreciated so much how accessible our cabin was. The doors were wide, the shower was ramped. It made things so much easier for me. Not to mention how beautiful the cabin was.

My wife and I and our 4-year old decided to maintain our reservation despite Covid-19. We invited friends with young children as our out-of-town guests could not join us. We are very glad that we stayed. The property was clean and we liked the mix of rustic and modern design. We also appreciated that Yosemite West was close enough to the valley but allowed distance from other tourists. We would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at Al[englow 3. It was as pictured and more than we expected. Our only suggestion would be to have some sort of window covering for the kitchen windows for the evening summer sun. We had a fantastic stay in Alpenglow 3. The cabin was gorgeous. We loved the views, chef's kitchen, hardwood floors, soaking tubs and comfy beds. The perfect location. We loved how quiet and relaxing it was yet still only 25 minutes from the Valley floor. We can't say enough wonderful things about this cabin and will absolutely be back. Thank you for making our Thanksgiving holiday so special!

Every comfort we wanted set in the woods with easy access to Yosemite and a view. We loved the heated bathroom floors, the soaking tubs, the gas fireplace and the quiet climate control system. The dining table was a perfect gathering spot, and the kitchen made the cabin a home.

Great directions and easy to get in. Home exceeded our expectations - really nice and comfortable bedroom, bath and well stocked kitchen. Would be nice to have a few more food basics in the kitchen - there aren't any restaurants close by so you really do need to be prepared to do a little cooking. We'd definitely recommend the home and stay there again.

Absolutely loved the place. Everything was extremely clean. The heated bathroom floors are amazing! The only minor thing I would suggest is labeling the cabinets in the kitchen so it is easier to get things back where they belong.

My only feedback would be to have the address more prominent in the confimation note. I was unable to print a map in advance so hard to find in the dark. I had the email but no way to connect to a map. I did not see the address at first as it was buried at the bottom.
