Your Yosemite Weekend Getaway

California is a big place, but it's not so big that you can't get to Yosemite National Park for a weekend trip. Flights from within the state aren't that expensive, and driving there is beautiful. This summer, take a little time for yourself and visit Yosemite for a weekend getaway. Here are a few tips for making the most of your Yosemite trip. 1. Plan Ahead. Yosemite is the most crowded during the summer, and particularly during summer weekends. The best way to ensure that you won't get frustrated by the crowds during your Yosemite vacation is to plan ahead. Figure out what you'd like to do and where you'd like to go in the park before arriving and make all the necessary reservations. Photography tours and bus tours, for example, are limited to a certain number of people, so they're a great way to experience the park without getting too crowded. Hiking Half Dome is another great way to enjoy your Yosemite vacation, and the trail is limited to only 400 hikers per day. This makes the hike safer and more enjoyable, but it also makes permits very hard to come by. Plan your trip at least a few months in advance in order to ensure that you'll get the permits you need. 2. Get creative. There are a plethora of activities in Yosemite National Park, but in truth, you don't have to do much to enjoy your Yosemite vacation. Find a quiet spot with your loved one and enjoy the sunset. Head to Tuolumne Meadows with your friends to watch the wildlife and enjoy the atmosphere. Reserve a Yosemite cabin rental with a full kitchen and eat in instead of waiting for an hour to be seated at a local restaurant. 3. Make Memories. There are a few sights that you simply can't miss on your Yosemite trip. You'll have to face the crowds, but it will be worth it. Perhaps most importantly, when you head up to Yosemite for the weekend, be sure to get up to Glacier Point to see the view of Yosemite Valley from this world famous lookout point. This view is one of the most photographed vistas in existence. You won't want to miss it. 4. Rent a Yosemite Cabin Camping and hotels both have their perks, but arguably the best accommodations in Yosemite are vacation homes. Yosemite vacation homes are less expensive per square foot than hotels and offer numerous additional amenities, not the least of which is the proximity of Yosemite cabins to park activities. Yosemite vacation homes also have full kitchens, comfortable beds, indoor plumbing, and all the space you need to relax. When all you have is a weekend to enjoy Yosemite, a cabin is the perfect way to ensure that you enjoy both your days and your nights in the park.
