Yosemite's clouds are magnificent in their beauty

Cloudy days add to the grandeur of the Park's scenery. The mountain clouds seem to shout for joy...even when they aren't the thunder clouds!!! Clouds inspire a "sense of wonder"!!! Nature enthusiasts and artists of all kinds love clouds. Clouds provide a dramatic touch to art and to the mountain scenery. Clouds are beautiful and seem to be painted on the sky. Clouds can change rapidly in size, shape, and color. Sometimes hovering over the valley, sometimes passing quickly by...fleeting. Monday morning's dark clouds warned of the approaching storm and helped to tell the story of the tracks left in the snow by the coyote, deer, and squirrels making their preparations so that they could settle down and tuck themselves in snuggly. After the snow storm passed, beautiful white fluffy clouds appeared...bringing peace to the mountains. Soon... patches of blue sky popped out. Tuesday's gentle storm left a white forest and sky. All seems quiet and calm. A good time for some poetry. "Pine Tree Tops " by Gary Snyder in the blue night frost haze, the sky glows with the moon pine tree tops bend snow-blue, fade into sky, frost, starlight. the creak of boots. rabbits tracks, deer tracks, what do we know. A good time for some reflection.       "Listening Point" by Sigurd Olson While we are born with curiosity and wonder and our early years full of the adventure they bring, I know such inherent joys are often lost. I also know that, being deep within us, their latent glow can be fanned to flame again by awareness and an open mind.
